Tractor Requirements:
- A current and valid Federal Annual Inspection
- Electronically controlled engine (capable of transmitting data to the cab data port)
- Unit must pass all Federal, State, Local, and Company safety requirements determined in a pre-lease vehicle inspection, including a Federal Annual Inspection and a Penn Tank Lines Schedule A Inspection (performed by an authorized company representative or company designated third party, or approved truck dealership)
- No frame stretches, alterations or weld repairs
- Must meet all Federal, State, Local and Company requirements determined
- Exhaust system must have muffler or heat shield or resonator; horizontal or vertical exhaust must exit behind the cab
- No accessories which would block the driver's vision in any direction or which would take away from a professional appearance, including but not limited to drop visors, spiked lug nut covers and dog teeth radiator screens
- No window tint other than factor installed
- All items in the cab must be secured
- Equipment subject to period inspection with appropriate action taken for any unauthorized apparatus found, such as improper hoses, fittings, pumps, fuel storage containers, etc.
- Any transfer of equipment must meet guidelines; no grandfathering of mechanical engines
- Local Day Cab Tractor for Tank Division
- 12 years or newer from current date is preferred, older units may be considered by Director of Maintenance and Chief Risk Officer.
- Must not exceed a weight of 18,000lbs with driver and fuel
- Must not exceed the maximum height of 11'6" which includes the top of exhaust stacks
- No roof fairings allowed.
- Wheel Base Must be within the range of 185 to 220 inches
- Image/Appearance must be acceptable
- Road / Sleeper Tractor for Tank Division (for multiple day dispatch)
- 12 years or newer from current date is preferred, older units may be considered by Director of Maintenance and Chief Risk Officer.
- Must not exceed a weight of 19,000lbs with driver and fuel
- Must not exceed the maximum height of 11'6" which includes the top of exhaust stacks
- True mid-roof at a maximum cab height of 10’6” with no windows on the top of the sleeper.
- Wheel Base Must not exceed 240 inches
- Image/Appearance must be acceptable
- Jet Fuel Tractor
- 12 years or newer from current date is preferred, older units may be considered by Director of Maintenance and Chief Risk Officer.
- Must not exceed a weight of 19,000lbs with driver and fuel
- Maximum height of tractor will be approved upon review
- Wheel Base Must be within the range of 185 to 260 inches
- Image/Appearance must be acceptable
- Road / Sleeper Tractor for Flatbed Division (for multiple day dispatch)
- 12 years or newer from current date is preferred, older units may be considered by Director of Maintenance and Chief Risk Officer.
- Must not exceed a weight of 19,500lbs with driver and fuel
- Maximum Height of tractor will be approved upon review.
- Wheel Base Must be within the range of 185 to 260 inches
- Image/Appearance must be acceptable
- Upon completion of the criteria verification, the request for approval of a lease agreement should then be submitted to the respective Operations Regional Manager and Risk Management Field Supervisor for review and approval.
Driver Requirements:
- 23 years of age
- Possess a valid Class A CDL in state of residence with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements (no endorsements required for Genesis Transportation, the Flatbed division of Penn Tank Lines)
- Candidates who are willing to obtain these endorsements, or who are in the process of obtaining these endorsements are encouraged to apply
- 2 years of recent verifiable tractor- trailer driving experience (1 year for Genesis Flatbed)
- Must be able to pass a DOT Physical, Pre-Employment Drug Test and Road Test
- Must be able to meet all USDOT requirements
Disqualifiers:
- More than 3 total Moving Violations in the last 3 years, with no more than 1 Violation in the last 12 months prior to hiring
- Rollover accidents in a commercial vehicle
- A DOT preventable-rear end accident
- More than 1 preventable on-road accident in the last 3 years
- A reckless / careless driving conviction or plea in the last 3 years
- A license suspension or revocation for a moving violation in the last 3 years
- DUI in the last 7 years
- Speeding violations 15 MPH or more over the speed limit in the past 3 years
